The Cleveland Browns continued to be haunted by a bad offense and that’s the main reason they’re a 1-3 football team through the first four weeks of the season. Cleveland scored just one touchdown again in their 34-10 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday which again highlighted the incapable offense the Browns have the majority of the time. If it’s not the offense struggling, Cleveland is hurting itself in other ways like penalties and turnovers.
Browns WR Jerry Jeudy was very frustrated after the loss to the Lions
Cleveland QB Joe Flacco didn’t play well in Week 4 against the Lions but it wasn’t just him that held back the struggling offense. Flacco finished just 16-of-34 passing the football for 184 yards and two interceptions. One of those interceptions was as bad as you’ll see, and another came on a route that Jeudy fell down on. It wasn’t a great day of work for the Browns’ top wideout overall.
“That sh*t got me hot, I have to make that damn play, bro,” Jeudy said after the game. “It was a big-time play, I got to catch them shi*s. I catch them shi*s every day in practice. I got to make that play, bro, shi*ts frustrating,” Jeudy said after the game.
Cleveland’s defense gave them a chance in the first half despite the Lions leading 20-7 at halftime. The Lions were held to 277 yards and that’s a very acceptable amount with the makeup that the Detroit offense has. Cleveland hurt themselves with special teams errors that included a punt return for a touchdown. Jeudy knows that the Cleveland offense is the main issue and he called it like everyone sees it after the game.
“The defense has been doing their thing all season,” Jeudy stated. “I’m tired of leaning on the defense, it’s time for us to make some damn plays out there.”
The second of three straight games against the NFC North on the road against Detroit was humbling. It is a week-to-week league and anything can happen. Cleveland was riding high off a win over a good Green Bay Packers team until they ran into Detroit. Now, the Browns will take on another tough team with the Minnesota Vikings waiting for them in London.
