Week 7 figured out a lot for the Cleveland Browns and the direction that they are trending toward for the 2024 NFL season. That direction is being one of the worst, if not the worst team in all of football.

After losing their fifth straight game at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Browns are 1-6 on the season and going nowhere. Deshaun Watson was lost for the season and things are very unclear for an already bad team going forward.

It is clear what the Browns need to do and they started it by trading wide receiver Amari Cooper

Browns need to act on being big sellers at the NFL trade deadline

Cleveland needs to capitalize on getting something back for players that don’t have a future in Cleveland, or at least are not under contract past this season. Teams that expect to contend will give up draft picks in return for a player who could be a rental. The Browns have multiple players that could be moved, in fact, A to Z Sports has already laid out a list here.

The big names that the Browns must think about trying to move are defensive end Za’Darius Smith, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, wide receiver Elijah Moore, amongst others.

Cleveland’s situation at quarterback has the entire future really cloudy for the team. The Browns haven’t had a first-round pick in three years and have one of the older rosters in the NFL, so loading up on draft picks could be a good direction to start.

The Browns don’t need to undergo a full rebuild. Overall, they have a pretty good roster with issues at certain spots. Injuries have done the Browns no help and that trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Cleveland already moved Cooper, now it is time to start thinking about moving some other players. The Browns need to be one of the biggest sellers at the trade deadline, if not the biggest.
