Cleveland Browns admit shocking opinion about draft prospect Travis Hunter during media session at 2025 NFL Scouting Combine
Browns have a controversial view of Travis Hunter.
INDIANAPOLIS – During media availability at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry made a shocking statement about top draft prospect Travis Hunter.
According to Berry, the Browns view Hunter as a primary wide receiver at the next level. That's a sharp contradiction to how the rest of the NFL has talked about Hunter during the pre-draft process. While there has been some question about whether or not he can play both sides of the ball at the next level, the "consensus" seems to be that Hunter is a better cornerback than receiver.
Hunter will be working out and testing with the cornerbacks during combine week in Indianapolis.

"In terms of Travis Hunter cornerback and receiver, the answer is yes. He can play both and I think that's what makes him special," said Berry on Tuesday. "We would see him as a receiver primarily first, but I think what makes him a bit of a unicorn is the fact that he can do both at a high level."
With the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Browns might be the most interesting team in the league right now because of how many different directions they could go. Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Cam Ward, and Shedeur Sanders would all fit in Cleveland.
It really makes you wonder why the Browns feel Hunter would be a primary receiver in the NFL. Is it based on his ability? Or is strictly a value thing?
I think Berry's belief that he can do both and could be used immediately as a receiver point to the Browns having a lot of interest in drafting him.
