One Cleveland Browns’ player got the news that he nor anyone else expected on his birthday.

Cleveland opted to waive backup guard Michael Dunn in a move that was surprising to all.

Dunn was viewed by myself and many other colleagues as the Browns’ sixth-best lineman. I had him as a lock on my 53-man roster. So to get rid of him, especially on his birthday, is quite a surprise.

Over the last three seasons, Dunn has played in 28 games (four starts) with the Browns.

This could be an example of some roster maneuvering by the Browns, who may put a player on the injured reserve to bring Dunn back.

At guard, Nick Harris showed earlier in his career he can not be reliable at guard and rookie Luke Wypler is not ready to step in there either. Getting Dunn back or another guard is important.

Not the best of looks for the Browns, who sent out a post on X wishing Dunn a happy birthday shortly before the waiver.
