Cleveland Browns have made a couple of roster moves around the future of two players.

The Browns have waived S Bubba Bolden with an injury designation and placed LB Jacob Phillips on the injured reserve with a season ending injury, AtoZ Sports can confirm.

Bolden was in his second season with the Browns in some form, having spent some time with the practice squad last year.

Last night against the Washington Commanders in the second preseason game for the team, both players suffered injuries. It was Phillips’ second straight season of tearing a pectoral muscle that will need surgery. It is unfortunate news for the fourth-year linebacker that was fighting for a roster spot.

Now, Phillips’ future is a bit cloudy. He will have to count against the 53-man roster if the Browns want to keep him. When it comes to roster cut-down time, Cleveland will have to make that decision.

Bolden had an interception in the first preseason game against the New York Jets and had some good moments recently before suffering the hamstring injury.

In place of Bolden, the Browns are bringing in S Nate Meadors. Meadors has spent time with the Browns previously and has three games of NFL experience with the Minnesota Vikings.

A flurry of roster moves to shut the book on a couple of tough days for Cleveland.
