The Cleveland Browns’ 2023 season did not go as planned. They won 11 football games through a ton of injuries but were one-and-done in the playoffs.

A team that is a lot like Cleveland is the Detroit Lions. They’ve faced a ton of losing in the past but now they’re playing winning football. During his postseason presser on Monday, general manager Andrew Berry said Detroit is a team he’s paying attention to.

"Probably the NFL storyline I followed most really is what's going on with Detroit,” Berry said. “It's been pretty cool to see and follow them. It kind of got me thinking 'what's it going to feel like, sound like where we're hosting a playoff game here in Cleveland'.”

Detroit is playing in the NFC Championship this coming weekend and that’s somewhere the Browns hope to be shortly in the AFC. Perhaps that’s somewhere Cleveland can be soon and very well could have been this year without the abundance of injuries.

Cleveland has not hosted a playoff game at home in nearly 30 seasons. Berry pointed out that the environment in Detroit for the Lions’ home playoff games to this point has been amazing to watch. It is something that Cleveland very well could look and feel like in the coming seasons in January.

This season, the Browns made the playoffs for the second time in four years and things are on the right track with Berry and Kevin Stefanski at the helm. It is all about that next step, the one that Detroit is currently taking.
