The Cleveland Browns are now 4-13 on the season, and just one game remains after their Week 17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland won its home finale by a score of 13-6.

Cleveland’s fourth win helps it surpass the three-win total it had last season. The Browns will be in search of win No. 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday. There’s also a Myles Garrett development coming out of the win over the Steelers to watch next week.

Myles Garrett was unable to break the sack record in 16 games

Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt hold the single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks. They recorded that stat in 16-game seasons, and Garrett is exiting game 16 for the Browns with 22 sacks to his credit. While the star pass rusher can break the NFL record next Sunday against the Bengals, he will be doing so in 17 games. It’s still a record Garrett can break if he can bring down QB Joe Burrow next weekend, but some will always note it was done in 17 games.

Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers had a great game plan to deal with Garrett in Week 17. The Steelers were consistently double-teaming Garrett while throwing a tight end chip at times.

Combine that with Rodgers notably getting the ball out quicker than normal, and the Steelers did their best to limit the Browns’ star edge rusher. Garrett finished with just a single tackle against Pittsburgh, but may have been the most impactful player on the field.

Garrett had a sack in nine straight games leading up to Sunday’s win over the Steelers. You have to go back to Oct. 12 against Pittsburgh when Garrett did not have a sack. Through that nine-game run, the Defensive Player of the Year favorite piled up 18 sacks.

After not bringing down Rodgers in Week 17, all pressure is now on Garrett to do it against the Bengals. Garrett has 15 sacks in 13 career games against the Bengals, and he’s had a sack in every game except for two.
