Week 4 will go down as one that the Cleveland Browns will want to forget when they reflect on 2023 a few months from now.

The Baltimore Ravens handled the Browns a 28-3 loss in a game that the Browns only totaled 166 yards. A field goal was the only thing that Cleveland could muster on Sunday.

Cleveland’s focus shifts to the bye week already, a week that they desperately need and we’re only a month into the season.

Coming away from the dubbing that the Browns took in Week 4 there are some winners, which may surprise you with the lopsided score, it wasn’t all bad. Then a few players that didn’t have things go their way will be noted.

Winners

K Dustin Hopkins

Let’s get the guy that scored out of the way, he was the only one. Hopkins has made multiple kicks on the season now from at least 50 yards out. It’s been a roller coaster of expectations in the past with kickers, Hopkins has been pretty good through four games. The 53-yard boot that went right down the middle is the latest testament.

DE Myles Garrett

Garrett is now up to 5.5 sacks after getting one against Lamar Jackson. Cleveland’s All-Pro had his way on Sunday with three hits on the quarterback, as well as a holding penalty drawn.

Through four games, Garrett is on pace for 23 sacks. Don’t expect that to happen, but him breaking his career high (16) is very much on the table if early implications mean anything.

LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

I was once again pleased with Cleveland’s quickest linebacker. JOK flew around all game and ended up with six tackles to lead the team. The third-year linebacker is diagnosing things quickly and getting ball carriers at or behind the line of scrimmage at a fair rate.

Losers

QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson

The first career start for the fifth-round pick is one he won’t want to remember. Against the Ravens, Thompson-Robinson had three interceptions and multiple other turnover throws. With 36 attempts, DTR passed for just 121 yards. Play calling and protection weren’t there but the rookie hurt himself by holding the ball far too long at times. If all goes as planned, this is the only time the rookie has to play this season.

RB Jerome Ford

In two rams without Nick Chubb, the run game has been nonexistent. Against the Ravens, Ford had 26 yards on nine carries. Cleveland badly needs more from the run game.

WR Elijah Moore

I am unimpressed with Moore in Cleveland through four games, at least with the hype that many built around him. Moore took a handoff and lost 20 yards simply trying to do too much. Last week it was just 49 yards on nine catches and a fumble. Moore has to be better and the Browns have to help him do that.
