ESPN names the Cleveland Browns as the ideal fit for a top free agent set to be available in March, and he fits the bill for what they need
Cleveland Browns have been named a fit for a top free agent who would fit exactly what Todd Monken needs for his offense.
A major free agency period is ahead for the Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry. As it currently stands, the offensive line is where the Browns are set to see the most change.
All five of Cleveland’s 2025 starters are set to be free agents. The Browns could have an entirely new offensive line in 2026, and at least part of it is going to be built during free agency.
ESPN names the Browns a fit for Green Bay Packers LT Rasheed Walker
The most important position the Browns need to find an answer for is left tackle and that’s been the case since Joe Thomas retired. ESPN has named the Browns the ideal fit for the Green Bay Packers impending free agent LT Rasheed Walker, who is set to be one of the top free agents available.
“With needs across the offensive line, the Browns should target Walker, the top offensive tackle on our board,” ESPN’s Matt Bowen wrote. “His pass block win rate of 93.8% with the Packers ranked 11th among 68 qualifying offensive tackles in 2025, and he should be viewed as an upgrade in Cleveland, as new coach Todd Monken rebuilds the front.”
Walker started 48 games for the Packers over the last three seasons as a former 2022 seventh-round draft pick from Penn State. Walker became a starter in 2023 and has been since for the Packers. It’s notable that Walker has been available for all 17 games the last three seasons. The Browns’ current answer at left tackle is Dawand Jones, and his career has been riddled by injuries so far.
Pro Football Focus graded Walker with a 64.6 grade in 2025 with a 70 pass blocking grade. In 572 pass blocking snaps, Walker had nine penalties, 34 pressures, and five sacks allowed. The Browns would have been well off with Walker at left tackle last season.
Walker is projected to have a value of around $20 million a season, so it could take a contract in the range of four-years and $80 million to get it done.
New head coach Todd Monken is going to need an average offensive line at worst to find success in Cleveland. The Browns didn’t have it last year, but adding Walker in free agency would be a start toward it going forward.
