While the Cleveland Browns dropped to 2-8 on the season after an ugly loss to the New Orleans Saints, one former Brown is having a much better time.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper made some big plays for the Buffalo Bills in Week 11 when they handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season. Cooper had two catches for 55 yards against the Chiefs in the 30-21 win.
Following the game, Cooper may have decided to throw some shade at Cleveland, as well as his other NFL stops.
“This is the first time in a long time that I actually felt joy from winning this game,” Cooper admitted after the Buffalo win. “From just the way we played, from having so many guys on the team that are playmakers and they come up and show up whenever their number is called.”
Cooper was shipped to Buffalo for a middle-round pick a few weeks before the trade deadline. In three games since joining Buffalo, Cooper has made seven catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. In six games with the Browns this season, Cooper had 24 catches, 250 yards, and two scores.
This stuff often happens where players admit things like this after they leave teams and to no surprise it is happening to the Browns. It isn’t hard to see that the Browns are a terrible product right. now and one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Cooper is enjoying the tight-knit group that the Bills have, something he may have not had in Cleveland.
“A lot of the guys go out together, they hand around each other 24/7. It truly shows up on the field, it truly does.”
Cooper was WR1 for Cleveland in the three seasons he was with the Browns. He crossed the 1,000-yard mark in 2022 and followed it up with a career-high 1,250 receiving yards in 2023.
Cooper hasn’t won a Super Bowl in his 10 seasons in the NFL and this season with the Bills may be the best chance he ever gets. Buffalo is one of the best teams in the league and they’ve shown they can beat the Chiefs now. You can say things are trending in an opposite direction for Cooper, than they are for the Browns.
