Soon enough Marvin Harrison Jr. will be a top-five NFL Draft selection, just like one former Michigan wide receiver in 2005.

With the No. 3 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Braylon Edwards. In what looks to be a Wolverine and Buckeye rivalry jab, Edwards took a shot at Harrison on X (Twitter).

Harrison having 1,211 yards receiving on just 67 catches is just about as good as it gets. Edwards was very good for Michigan in each of his three seasons following freshman year. The same can be said about Harrison, who took off following his freshman year and will likely leave school after his junior season for the draft.

Like Edwards, Harrison should hear his name called in the top five of the draft in April. The Buckeye star is being called the best wide receiver prospect dating back to maybe A.J. Green or further.

Edwards played in the NFL for eight seasons and put together a few strong seasons. He never lived up to his draft stock, having just one season where he went over 1,000 yards receiving. Harrison will hope to have a long consistent career, almost like someone else with the same name as him had.

Back in 2012, Edwards last played in the NFL for the Jets and Seahawks in his final season. Now, it seems to be that he’s reminiscing on his peak times.
