All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will be entering the Dawg Pound this weekend when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Cleveland Browns.

The Bengals have only won once in Cleveland since Chase was drafted in 2021, and the four-time Pro Bowl receiver has only scored one touchdown in three career games at Huntington Bank Field.

If he scores during this Sunday’s game, he will not be jumping into the stands amongst the Browns’ faithful. He simply doesn’t want to take the chance.

Ja’Marr Chase casually trolls Browns fans

Chase told local Bengals reporters during his weekly press conference that he doesn’t have any problem with Cleveland fans, and while he’s always wanted to celebrate by jumping into the stands, he won’t do it.

“I heard they stab people in there,” Chase said with a smirk. “Messing with y’all, man.”

Chase led the NFL in receiving touchdowns along with receptions and receiving yards last year, becoming the league’s fifth wideout to earn the triple crown since 1990. He averaged just over 100 yards per game and one touchdown per game for all of 2024.

He’s only amassed 120 total yards and the aforementioned one score in three road games against the Browns. His career-best day came last year when he posted five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. Cincinnati won that game, 21-14.

It’s always a tough battle for Chase when he has to square off against Denzel Ward, Cleveland’s No. 1 cornerback. Ward caught Chase by surprise last year by throwing some trash talk back his way.

“The first time [I heard] him ever talking to me in the game was last year,” Chase said. “And I turned around to say ‘What the hell?’. So yeah, I don’t never hear him say nothing.”

Chase wishes Ward would engage him more often like that, as it plays into what he likes doing.

“Trash talking is fun,” Chase said. “That’s why I like doing it.”

Even when it’s at Browns fans.
