The Cleveland Browns played their best game of the season in Week 8 and it was good enough to upset the Baltimore Ravens at home by a score of 29-24.

Cleveland played their first game following the season-ending injury to Deshaun Watson. In Jameis Winston’s first start with the Browns, Cleveland put out their best offensive game of the season.

In the win over the Ravens, Cleveland ended two embarrassing offensive streaks that they had going. Coming into the game, the Browns had yet to have a game where they scored 20 points or a quarterback to record 200 passing yards.

Winston went 27-of-41 for 334 yards and three touchdowns. The biggest key stat is that Winston did not throw an interception. The wide receivers were elevated as a whole. Cedric Tillman recorded seven catches for 99 yards and Elijah Moore had 85 yards. Jerry Jeudy added 79 yards for Cleveland and David Njoku had five catches for 61 yards.

Winston clearly elevated the offense by pushing the ball downfield, but it was one more game under Nick Chubb’s belt where they were able to ramp him up a little bit more. Chubb finished with 52 yards on 16 runs.

The protection up front for the Browns was the best it had been all season with Dawand Jones making his first start at left tackle and Wyatt Teller returning to the lineup. Winston was sacked just two times.

Cleveland had the chance to win the game with 2:31 left and they did just that. Winston marched the Browns right down the field and it ended up being a 38-yard touchdown to Tillman that was the difference.

It is just their second win of the season, but the Browns can feel good about knocking off the Ravens and they should. The offense is something they should feel even better about after putting up 401 yards against Baltimore.
