It wasn't too long ago for New York Jets quarterback Trevor Siemian.

The Cleveland Browns were playing the Jets and a brutal blow from Myles Garrett injured Siemian's ankle, altering the Jets' season.

Now, ahead of a Thursday Night Football matchup featuring the Browns and Jets, Siemian is trying to get on Garrett's good side to make sure a hit like the one in 2019 doesn't happen again.

"[Myles Garrett] can do everything. Speed, power, they move him around," Siemian said when asked about the Browns' star.

"When you think he’s running the corner, he’ll bull rush. So it’s important to know where he’s at for sure. He’s a problem."

It is clear Siemian is saying all the right things regarding Garrett, but he could be attempting a veteran-like move to ensure the All-Pro edge rusher doesn't blow up the backfield all over again.

But it wasn't just the quarterback attempting to flatter Garrett — there was also Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

Their front four gets after it," Saleh said. "Myles Garrett is as good as anybody in football.:

Garrett's success isn't the only element that makes the Browns' defense scary — the Jets know Cleveland plays the game at all three levels.

"They’re good at all three levels," Siemian said. "Upfront obviously with the two edge guys. Their whole front is great, they have players at linebacker, and then their DBs are sticky. So, a great challenge, they do a lot of things really well, so there’s a reason for the success they’ve had this year."

Garrett is an imposing force, but that has the entirety of the Browns' defense all season.

Now, Cleveland has a chance to lock its playoff chances by handling the Jets on Thursday night.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m.
