The Cleveland Browns were once again on the wrong side of things in Week 16 of the NFL season when they traveled to play the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cleveland dropped to 3-12 on the season with a 24-6 dud of a game against Cincinnati. It was the fourth straight loss for Cleveland since they beat the Steelers on Nov. 21. The Browns have lost six of their last seven overall.
With all of the losing — as well as another quarterback change — one may wonder how the locker room is holding up in Cleveland.
"I know this group that we have. I know the locker room we have. These guys love the opportunity to compete,” Stefanski said after the loss vs. the Bengals. “Doesn't mean that they're not frustrated by today, but we'll put our head down and we'll go back to work."
Dorian Thompson-Robinson was handed the keys to the offense against Cincinnati and will start again next week if he is healthy. The second-year quarterback threw two interceptions and finished 20-of-34 passing for 157 yards. DTR added 49 yards rushing.
With just two games remaining, the Browns are heading toward possibly a pick in the top-five of the draft. At this point, future contracts are one of the things the players are playing for. The playoffs have been out of the picture for a long time. Cleveland’s biggest issue remains the quarterback position and there is no exact direction they took to be going with it.
The team will continue to have Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski at the helm. According to Stefanski, he is still leading a strong locker room. Owner Jimmy Haslam has publicly backed both Stefanski and Berry in the back half of this season.
