Over the weekend, fans of the Cleveland Browns who were in attendance at the David Njoku Celebrity Softball Game got quite the scare.

Deshaun Watson was playing first base when he collided with fellow teammate and tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden and took a fall onto the ground. Watson quickly let the crowd know he was okay, but since he is coming off shoulder surgery, it was a moment to hold your breath surely.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski appeared on 92.3 The Fan’s Ken Carman Show this morning and reassured that all is indeed well with QB1.

"I didn't hear about it, and if I didn't hear about it, it's like the ‘did the tree fall in the forest type thing’,” Stefanski said. "Unless the trainer calls me, I don't really pay too much attention to it, so I think he's good. Brush it off. It's part of playing contact sports … is softball a contact sport?"

Watson has been throwing every other day during OTAs as of recently, while he is working his way back from the shoulder injury. Mandatory minicamp begins on Tuesday, so there is no time for even a slight injury. It is unknown how much Watson will throw during the three-day minicamp.

Cleveland’s starting quarterback taking a tumble is an example of the worries with professional athletes even off of the football field.

"You wanna be safe, in anything you're doing. The guys are sick of me telling them to be safe over the weekend, over this break we've got coming up. I feel like I'm mother hen — you want all your guys in front of you — you wanna take care of everybody [and] put everybody in bubble wrap. But we've got a five-week break coming up here and guys are gonna go to all corners of the globe and you're getting ready for training camp and doing whatever you're doing, you're traveling.”

With Watson specifically, another serious injury would be devastating with how his first two seasons have gone in Cleveland. In his two seasons with the Browns, Watson has played in just 12 games.

"You want the guys to have fun, you want them to do things that help them get in shape. But the bottom line is you have to, have to make great decisions away from this building."
