The NFL Scouting Combine is going on this week in Indianapolis and we are just a couple of months away from the draft. In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns are going to select a quarterback at some point, it is just a matter of when.

We will not see either quarterbacks Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders throwing at the combine this week. GM Andrew Berry spoke highly of Sanders on Tuesday and HC Kevin Stefanski did a bit of the same on Wednesday.

“Shedeur is a very, very impressive young man. [He] was raised the right way,” Stefanski said at the combine. “Obviously, he’s a heck of a football player, that’s evident off the tape. But [I was] really impressed with the person.”

It isn’t a sure thing that Cleveland takes their QB at 2, they may opt to take one later and develop them with a free agent being the starter. Still, Cleveland has to do all of their homework on the top quarterbacks available. The common feeling about this draft class is that it is pretty weak at the quarterback position. Either way, the Browns have to bring in a player to develop with the ship on Deshaun Watson having all but sailed.

“He has a great resource in his dad to understand what it takes to be a great pro. He played for Pat Shurmur at Colorado, you know Pat being a longtime NFL coach, so he understands that as well. So, I think he is taking advantage of the people close to him.”

Expect the Browns to be at Colorado’s Pro Day in full force where they should get a look at Sanders throwing the football. Sanders is very much one of a select few players in play for the Browns at No. 2 overall if they can get him.
