Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins was another one in the loss column for the Cleveland Browns, who are now 3-13 on the 2024 campaign with one game remaining.

Cleveland’s offense struggled again vs. Miami, just as the unit has all season. Miami had little trouble running past Cleveland by a score of 20-3.

The one positive the Browns have to take away from the game is draft positioning. In Week 17, the Browns moved from No. 5 to No. 3 in their draft spot. Wins by the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants helped Cleveland. Only the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans now sit ahead of the Browns in the draft order.

With it still being in season, Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski gave about the answer you would expect on his thoughts regarding the draft positioning.

"I have no comment on that,” Stefanski said after the loss to Miami.

To be high in the draft order you have to do a lot of losing, which is something that coaches are not going to be proud of. Despite Stefanski expected to be back next season, it is still a lost year for the Browns where they had hoped to build off of their playoff appearance from last season.

Cleveland has a real quarterback issue on their hands still with Dehsuan Watson having proven he is not the franchise guy. Addressing quarterback for at least next season has to be task No. 1 for the Browns. With sitting at the No. 3 pick, there is a real chance that quarterback may come from the draft. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward will be two players to watch.

Losing isn’t fun and the Browns have done plenty of it the last couple of decades. After having to give up three straight first-rounders the last few years, the Browns are set to have a very high draft pick in April.
