Cleveland Browns have begun their preparation for the Tennessee Titans without a few key players.
On Wednesday, wide receiver Amari Cooper, cornerback Greg Newsome II, and DE Za’Darius Smith all missed practice. Today, Newsome was the only one that remained out, along with TE David Njoku.
The good news today for Cleveland is that both Smith and Cooper were able to step back on the practice field.
Cooper had been dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in the last practice before they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Still, Cooper led the team in receiving with 90 yards on seven catches.
For Newsome, he had his arm/elbow rolled up on by a member of the Steelers. The third-year cornerback has dealt with his fair share of injuries through his young career. It’s the second missed practice this week for him.
Despite not having a sack yet, Smith has been a bright spot off of the edge opposite of Myles Garrett. He’s getting pressure and stops. Smith was shaken up against the Steelers but was able to reenter the game. It’s been a thigh and ankle that has been giving the veteran issues.
After being signed by the team recently, running back Kareem Hunt made his practice debut for 2023 with Cleveland.
