In Week 16, the Cleveland Browns grabbed their third straight win to move to 10-5 on the season.
A 36-22 win over the Houston Texans was what was on the menu for Cleveland when they took care of business. The Browns are nearly a playoff lock and can become just that with a win on Thursday.
Thanks to the win, the Browns are moving up in the latest NFL power rankings. Last week, Cleveland was at No. 8 in the power rankings. With the defeat of the Texans, the Browns have shockingly dropped in the power rankings. Cleveland now sits at No. 9 going into Week 17.
“I’m here for this comparison between Joe Flacco and a Ford pickup truck. After abandoning the Browns as a fan due to a trade made last spring, I have to say that I’m enjoying the twisted Wentz-Foles situation being created here. If nothing else, all schadenfreude aside, I’m enjoying the fact that Joe Flacco has backed my fantasy football team into the playoffs and is outplaying a season’s worth of Justin Herbert games that preceded it. Life is best when it makes no sense.” – Conor Orr, Sports Illustrated
The reason for Cleveland falling is that they’ve been jumped by the Buffalo Bills (9-6), who have won four of their last five games to get back into playoff contention. Still, it’s a questionable move to drop a team that did not lose. If the Browns had struggled that would be one thing, but they didn’t.
Next up for Cleveland is a date with the New York Jets tomorrow night where they’ll look for win No. 4 in a row. Cleveland will be going up against the Jets’ third quarterback Trevor Siemian. Perhaps it’ll be enough for Cleveland to bounce back in the next power rankings.

Chiefs losing just brought the Browns closer to doing something they’ve done just once
For the Browns to have this opportunity is crazy.
