Mike Hall Jr. had himself a special day against the Packers on Saturday for one obvious reason

It was a loss for the Cleveland Browns in their first preseason but that does not mean there were not some special moments. Wins and losses mean next to nothing in exhibition games and it’s all about what the coaches want us to see and what they need to see.
One storyline heading into the game was rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. making his preseason debut in Cleveland. Hall is a Northeast Ohio native and the Browns selected him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Hall didn’t record a stat in limited playing time during the first preseason game, but just being out there was special enough for the first dress rehearsal.
“The first time out there, it was a helluva feeling,” Hall said after the game. “Blessed to be out there, all thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Just happy to be able to play in front of thousands of fans and happy to rep my city.”
Throughout training camp, Hall has stood out with his pass rush ability from the inside. He showed that against the Packers in the play above where he was able to beat the left guard and center to help force the quarterback out of the pocket. Both his teammates and coaches have been raving about his explosive ability.
Coming away from the game, it sounds a lot like Hall is just glad to be out there and was able to get his feet under him. The Ohio State product will likely feel this same feeling of excitement when the Browns host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 at home when it counts.
“I felt great, just running to the ball and working my pass rush. Felt energized and I was good.”

The Browns showed they have some depth at the most important position, amongst other things.
