Myles Garrett stole the headlines this week when he requested a trade publicly from the Cleveland Browns. After eight seasons with the Browns and just one playoff win, the former Defensive Player of the Year wants out of Cleveland.

The Browns remain consistent that they will not be trading their cornerstone player or listening to offers on Garrett. Following the trade request, Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku shared a strong message for Garrett on Radio Row.

"Come on dawg, stay home bro," Njoku said on Radio Row this week. "He knows who I'm talking to, stay home, come on. Give it another shot, we ain't that far off honestly speaking."

Njoku one time requested a trade from the Browns but was eventually paid a fair deal then had a breakout season in 2023 with 882 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Njoku and Garrett were both drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft and have been through the ups and downs together in Cleveland.

"We came in [at] the same time, same round, everything. So we've been here the same amount of time. So we've seen the lowest of the lows, the highest of the highs in our team,” Njoku explained. “I don't think we are done yet. I know he wants to win and he wants to be great, he wants to be a champion and so do I.

"We didn't come this far, just to come this far. He knows exactly what I am talking about."

This is going to be a long process for the Browns and Njoku likely. We may see signs of whether or not the Browns plan to trade Garrett with how they operate during free agency. Still, a move likely isn’t going to happen until the summer at some point. This is a long offseason we are about to go through.

Njoku doesn’t want to see the Browns’ best player go and neither do the fans. Only time is going to tell if the Browns and Garrett will be able to come to some kind of common ground.
