Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals both have plenty to say leading up to every matchup and that is no different to open up the 2023 season.
Yesterday, Bengals’ wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase had some comments about Cleveland that were not taken so well by Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett.
“That was disrespectful,” said Garrett on Friday. “He didn’t have to do that. He knew better. We might have to have a discussion before or after the game, or maybe during if I see him.”
Garrett said it all with a grin on his face. This stems from Chase saying he almost called the Browns the ‘elves’, and that ‘Cleveland is Cleveland’. You can read the full comments here.
“Why everybody wanna talk about 'The Browns is the Browns' and 'Cleveland is Cleveland?' I don't know what that means,” Garrett spoke.
The All-Pro pass rusher called the comments ‘bulletin board material’. Garrett joked about the time that he recorded a sack on Chase last year.
"I do have a sack on Ja'Marr Chase. Wouldn't mind adding to it,” Garrett said laughing.
At the end of the day, all teams talk smack, some more than others. But Sunday is the day the two teams will have to play it out on the field. In this instance, it’s two players that are at the top of their positions.
Sunday at about 4 p.m. ET we will know who gets the last word, at least to start the season when the 1 p.m. kickoff wraps up.
Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase gives the Browns bulletin board material before Week 1
The Browns and Bengals in Week 1 may have just gotten a bit more exciting.
