It is time for the Cleveland Browns led by Kevin Stefanski to put up, or changes could be following.
In an interesting report from Matt Lombardo, one NFC coach believes that the Browns’ head coach is on the hot seat.
After three seasons at the helm in Cleveland, it’s time for the Browns to get over the hump.
Kevin Stefanski would be the first name on my list. The Browns have had a loaded roster the last several seasons and they just don't win." — NFC coach
In 2020, Stefanski led the Browns to their first playoff berth since the early 2000s, which resulted in the team’s first playoff win in nearly three decades. The Browns throttled the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card, before falling in a close one to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Since then, the Browns have regressed. In 2021, Cleveland took a step back to an 8-9 record. It resulted in Odell Beckham Jr. being cut during the season and Baker Mayfield being shipped out following the season. The Browns shook up the NFL by trading for Deshaun Watson but they knew it came at a likely cost of their 2022 season.
Watson was always going to be suspended a significant amount of time last season, resulting in a backup leading the way for most of the season. Jacoby Brissett did give the Browns everything you can ask for from a backup during those 11 games.
Nonetheless, the Browns took another step back to a 7-10 record.
With a new defensive coordinator and a revamped defense, along with Watson having a full offseason and starting week 1, there are legit expectations on the Browns.
If Cleveland fails to make the playoffs again with this roster, heads could roll for sure.
Whether that’s on Stefanski or not, that won’t matter much. He’s 26-24 in his first three seasons. In his fourth season, it’s time for the Browns to finally take that step forward.
Browns have to make final splash signing because of things they can’t control
Cleveland Browns have to make one last big signing due to the recent bad news.
