It is a Cleveland Browns gameday today and they will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on ‘Thursday Night Football’. With weather expected to be a factor, don’t count this game out from being a low-scoring one.
Before the Browns play tonight, there is no better time to look at the latest two-round 2025 NFL mock draft from A to Z Sports. The Browns aren’t heading to the playoffs this season, so draft position is something to watch.
In this mock draft, the future of the Browns offense changes quite a bit. Draft expert Rob Gregson made both of these selections for the Browns.
Cleveland Browns select Miami QB Cam Ward at No. 3 overall
“The Browns may still be on the hook for Deshaun Watson, but it’s clear that his days as the starting QB are over. A fresh start with a proven talent at QB like Cam Ward on his rookie deal will bring some life back to Cleveland.” – Rob Gregson
With this move, the Browns would be taking a swing to land what they would hope is their next franchise quarterback. The move for Deshaun Watson looks to be a massive failure that the Browns are just waiting to get out of. Getting a quarterback on a rookie contract would be the smartest thing to do.
Ward brings big play ability every time he steps on the field. However, playing on schedule and operating within a system are worries for Ward. Sometimes things can get erratic and that’s when the costly mistakes pop up on tape.
Ideally with a selection like this, the Browns have a bridge option to start the season out with before handing the offense to Ward.
Cleveland Browns select LSU WR Kyren Lacy at No. 35 overall
“The Browns need to get more explosive on the perimeter as they search for a true #1 on the outside. After paying Jerry Jeudy in the offseason and seeing the emergence of Cedric Tillman, Lacy gives them a dominant X who can win against man coverage and round out a strong pass-catching unit when accounting for David Njoku at TE.” – Rob Gregson
The Browns get a legit threat on the outside here that has a chance to be a No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL. Lacy has played a ton of college football, over 60 games through five seasons to be exact, so he has plenty of tape out there. At 6-foot-3, Lacy is having a strong senior season at LSU with nearly 750 yards and seven touchdowns. With Tillman and Jeudy being the only long-term pieces that are locks to be on the team next year, Lacy would add a lot of value and potentially have a big role from Day 1.
Mock draft season is here things will change a ton over the next six months leading up to the draft. Ride along with A to Z Cleveland throughout that time to see who is linked to the Browns.
