Cleveland Browns delivered a dud of a performance in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys and they will try to right that ship in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Before then, we are going to take a look at a 2025 NFL mock draft because that is what we do here. It is never too early to look at the draft, especially for the Browns who finally have a first-round pick again.

In A to Z Sports’ Ryan Roberts’ latest mock draft, the Browns are adding a big time playmaker for their offense

Browns select WR Luther Burden with No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Browns would be highly disappointed if they are picking in the No. 4 spot and people would lose jobs. However, the plus to that is they add a premier talent here in Burden.

“Deshaun Watson is a major issue at quarterback, but the money still makes moving on very tricky. We will see if the latest legal issue will change that. Strengthening the wide receiver position, especially with Amari beginning to diminish and a void year on the horizon, seems like a sound investment. Burden is dynamic in space and brings a lot of upside to the space game. He’s lighting in a bottle.” – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports

The last time the Browns held the No. 4 pick, they selected cornerback Denzel Ward in the 2018 NFL Draft. That has worked out pretty well, even if it felt like a slight reach at the time.

Burden is the top wide receiver coming out of the draft for good reason. 2023 was a breakout year for Burden at Missouri with 1,212 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Even as a freshman, Burden had six touchdowns and just under 400 yards receiving.

Amari Cooper is 30 years old and not getting any younger. Wide receivers fall off hard after age 30 and the Browns have to be prepared for that. Cooper and Elijah Moore are neither under contract for the 2025 season nor beyond. At this time, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is the top wide receiver under contract.

Burden is a 5-foot-11, 208-pound playmaker who can really hurt a team after the catch. Burden has the ability to play inside and out, so his versatility would be welcomed.

We are nowhere close to April or 2025 and it is still really early. The Browns don’t plan to be in a spot to be able to select Burden, but if they are it is a no-brainer of a pick.
