Second-round picks are flying off the board as they sign their NFL contracts with training camps kicking off around the league. The Cleveland Browns remain one of just three teams to have given out a fully guaranteed second-round deal.

The most recent team to do so was the Seattle Seahawks, who signed No. 35 overall pick, safety Nick Emmanwori, to a four-year contract on Thursday night — a deal he’s scheduled to see through in full.

Now, all eyes are on the Browns and what they’ll do with pick No. 36.

Cleveland Browns face decision on Quinshon Judkins’ contract

Rookies are scheduled to report to the Browns this morning, but second-round pick Quinshon Judkins will not be in attendance. Judkins remains unsigned and is the next domino to fall among second-round selections. Cleveland must now decide whether to offer a fully guaranteed contract after the precedent set with pick No. 35.

Complicating matters, Judkins was recently arrested on a domestic violence charge, which could significantly impact contract negotiations. From a public relations standpoint, it’s hard to imagine the Browns offering a fully guaranteed deal in light of his arrest in Florida. While the legal process will play out, any off-field incident before your first NFL training camp is undeniably a poor look.

The Browns have already moved on from the Nick Chubb era, selecting Judkins and former Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson in the draft. Jerome Ford remains on the roster and could serve as the primary back early in the season if Judkins faces a suspension.

Veterans report on July 22, and training camp will be in full swing. These early reps are crucial — especially for a rookie entering his first camp — making the Browns’ decision on Judkins’ contract a key storyline to watch.
