The waiting is just about over for the Cleveland Browns to finally have a first-round pick in the NFL draft again. Cleveland will make a selection at No. 2 overall after giving their last three first-round selections to the Houston Texans in the Deshaun Watson trade.

Hitting on this pick is a must for the Browns after going 3-14 last year and taking a big step back.

The overall feeling for the Browns is that they will take Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter with their No. 2 pick. A player that can impact the game in a couple of ways. Browns GM Andrew Berry sees Hunter as a WR first but knows he can go both ways.

“That’s just what we think he’s better at,” Berry said earlier in the month. “He’s great at both. I want to be clear … he’s great at both. I think that (saying he’s a wideout first) got a little bit of unfair traction last time I talked about this.”

Travis Hunter has a request for the NFL and Roger Goodell

When Hunter is selected, presumably by the Browns, he has one request for commissioner Roger Goodell. The Colorado product wants to be recognized for the two-way player that he is, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“Once he is picked Thursday night, Colorado standout Travis Hunter wants to make sure NFL commissioner Roger Goodell introduces him as a cornerback and a wide receiver.” — Adam Schefter, ESPN

Cleveland is going to start Hunter out a wide receiver and hope that he can be a big boost for their offense. On the flip side, it makes sense that the Browns may decide to give Hunter a package of defensive plays to start.

Hunter had four interceptions on defense for the Buffaloes last year while recording north of 1,200 receiving yards on the offensive side. Wherever Hunter goes, he is going to be a difference-maker.
