We all know the Dallas Cowboys like to play games when it comes to big-time contract negotiations with their star players. But this year, they can’t afford to do that with wide receiver George Pickens, whose fantastic 2025 season culminated in second-team All-Pro honors.

And if the Cowboys needed any more evidence of it, CeeDee Lamb just gave it to them.

Lamb reveals NFL players are recruiting Pickens

In an interview with Kay Adams from the Up & Adams show, Lamb admitted he’s putting in work behind the scenes to keep Pickens around, largely because multiple players from around the NFL are recruiting Pickens.

“A lot (of work),” Lamb said. “Because everybody in my face is trying to recruit him while I’m standing right next to him. Micah (Parsons) for one. He’s a little too active to be on a scooter. [. . .] There’s a lot of couple of people that I feel are trying to get (Pickens) away from me.”

Though Lamb was just having fun and being friendly as many NFL athletes are in San Francisco for the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl, which took place Tuesday, he said “Green Bay clearly wants him.”

Pickens is represented by David Mulugheta, who also represents Micah Parsons and played a role in Dallas ultimately trading the defender to the Packers.

“(The Packers) aren’t getting him,” Lamb added while showing his confidence in Pickens remaining a Cowboy.

Lamb is making his voice heard behind the scenes

In a more serious note, Lamb indicated he is making it clear to the Cowboys he wants them to keep Pickens around.

“I’m going right to the source,” Lamb said. “I don’t need no middle man, I don’t need no help. I’mma tell you what I want, I hope you enjoy it, I hope you like it, and you hear what I have to say. And then we go win.”

Multiple times this offseason, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has also indicated he will get involved in convincing Jerry Jones and Co. to keep Pickens around. Why the combined effort?

“We want to win,” Lamb said. “He’s a great player, he’s a phenomenal player, a great person. He’s like my brother off the field, he’s like my brother on the field.”

Though they knew so already, now the Cowboys have confirmation Pickens is on everyone’s radar ahead of this year’s free agency period. Pickens is expected to be franchise tagged before then, but a long-term deal makes sense to keep everyone happy. Lamb included.
