You can consider Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb ready to go for Sunday.

Following a concussion suffered in Week 14, Lamb is on track to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. The star wide receiver was a full participant in practice and has cleared the concussion protocol, per multiple reports. The final step of the NFL’s return-to-play protocol hinges on having full football activity, which Lamb did Thursday. Unfortunately, not everything is positive from the Cowboys’ second injury report of the week.

CeeDee Lamb shouldn’t miss a beat

Lamb is certainly benefiting from the Cowboys’ long week. With today’s concussion protocol, it is rare that a player returns from one week to another. But the 10-day hiatus appears to have made a big difference. With time to spare, Lamb is back for the Cowboys, and he’ll have two full practices before kickoff. Not to mention, he played — and played well — just last week. He exited last week’s Thursday Lions matchup with 121 receiving yards in a little over a half of football.

The Cowboys need him to be at his best against a dangerous Vikings defense that has made life hard for any quarterback that lines up across from it.

Jake Ferguson’s status takes a hit

Ferguson started the week as a limited participant due to a calf injury, and on Thursday, he was downgraded. On the second injury report of the week, Ferguson is listed as a non-participant. Trending downward in the middle of the week is never a good sign, and his status is in question ahead of the matchup versus the Vikings.

Though Ferguson hasn’t played elite football this season, he’s a crucial part of the Cowboys offense. Only George Pickens has more catches than him on the team, and that’s only by a margin of three (75 to 78). His seven touchdowns are also second on the team and more than double Lamb’s total. Missing Ferguson would propel Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford into the spotlight.

Cowboys’ full injury report

  • LT Tyler Guyton was the only other non-participant in practice. Pass protection could be a problem against a very blitz-happy Vikings defense. Guyton has also been missed in the run game, and it seems like it will be Nate Thomas starting again
  • DE Jadeveon Clowney, CB Shavon Revel Jr., and CB Trevon Diggs were limited for the second consecutive practice. Friday will be a huge day for each.
  • Safety Malik Hooker returned to practice on Thursday and is in line to play this weekend. He missed Wednesday for personal reasons.
