Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott showed the world why he's been talked up as an MVP candidate lately with a masterful showing against the Seattle Seahawks en route to a 41-35 win.
With a struggling defense on the other side of the ball, Prescott consistently put the team on his back as he completed 71% of 41 pass attempts for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
Dak's current run has forced NFL fans and media to reconsider how they perceive his caliber as a player. He's left national talking heads who loved to criticize his play week in and week out with no option but to recognize the work he's done.
He's quickly gone from being mistakenly labeled as a mediocre quarterback who can't win big games and saying Dallas would get nowhere with him to being one of the top MVP candidates of the league. None of that – not the praise not the hate – affects Dak Prescott.
"No difference when they're hating me," the Cowboys quarterback told reporters postgame. "I understand nobody's opinion defines me. That's the great part about life that people can say whatever they want but I've got the pen, I've got the paper, and I'm the one writing."
The stoic approach from Prescott in his legendary quote is palpable: He can't control others opinions and whether they're positive or negative, he refuses to focus on them. Instead, all he's interested in doing is keep playing at the same level.
"Because I'm playing as well as I am now, (it) doesn't mean that I'm going to stop, doesn't mean that I'm going to listen to them now," Prescott added. "Appreciate them but I don't care about their opinions right now anymore than I did when they were calling for my spot."
How much this current run that Prescott is in lasts remains to be seen. But there's no question he's locked in and if the Cowboys make a deep playoff run, the quarterback is likely to be the biggest reason why.
