Things are heating up between the Dallas Cowboys and a former All-Pro.
A meeting is now scheduled between the team and free-agent LB Shaquille Leonard for Tuesday.
This meeting had been reported already, but according to Josina Anderson, it wasn't officially agreed to by both parties until this morning.
If the Cowboys are serious about bringing Leonard on board, they may have to move quickly. As their divisional rival, the Philadelphia Eagles interest in Leonard has increased after a recent injury at LB.
With the Eagles already beating the Cowboys in their first meeting in Week 9 and their 2nd on the horizon (Week 14), landing a player of Leonard's caliber could be crucial for that game and the rest of the season for both teams.
Ian Rapoport shared that Leonard and his team may take things slow and be patient in his search for his next stop in the NFL. But the Cowboys will have the advantage over other interested teams as they will have him in their building before anyone else. And if they can give him a good enough pitch, they could potentially sign him before he can ever meet with another team.
