The Dallas Cowboys are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, a game which has lost some of its meaning given the team's slow start and Dak Prescott's hamstring injury.
However, football is football, and the Cowboys will approach the game with their eyes set on pulling off the upset against their division rivals, who might've accidentally provided some interesting intel on the health of their own starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts.
On Friday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni appeared to slip up during his press conference by suggesting Hurts was dealing with an ankle injury.
Hurts was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday with a "rest" designation. When asked what was behind that decision, Sirianni told reporters he was on the injury report with an ankle injury.
“Yeah, you know, it was on the injury report,” Sirianni told reporters. “He’s dealing with the ankle and we’re just making sure we’re precautious with everything.”
The reporters immediately pointed out Hurts was in fact not listed with an ankle injury, which resulted in an awkward moment as Sirianni backtracked and said it was nothing but a rest.
"That was a rest, yeah, sorry, I thought you were talking about something else," Sirianni said.
Other than WR Ainias Smith, there's no other player on the Eagles injury report listed with an ankle injury. So unless Sirianni confused Ainias with Jalen, it's certainly a noteworthy exchange here as it appears Hurts might be dealing with an undisclosed injury.
Hurts has been at practice both Thursday and Friday and there appear to be no concerns at all about his game status, however. They're also expected to have A.J. Brown at full go.
The Cowboys defense, which is expected to get Parsons back in time after missing four games, will have to be at its best if they're to slow down the 6-2 Eagles.
