One of the more popular pieces of media of late has been how players rank each other against their peers in the league.

The NFL Top 100 has it's own TV show and rolls out the lists over the course of a few episodes. Now the list is ruffles quite a few feathers, especially when it produces results like last year's when Lamar Jackson was ranked 72nd and Josh Jacobs 12th.

However, when you change the setting and the environment for players you can get well more thought out answers.

When you make the environment one player, and you have him in a setting like a podcast where the people know who they are listening to, the answers will be better.

A big reason for that is that they are no longer anonymous. People will know who is putting their friends higher for the sake of being their friends, and I'm sure they wouldn't hold back criticisms.

The young phenom quarterback of the Houston Texans, C.J. Stroud was recently in one of these settings.

Stroud joined Gillie Da King's podcast along with his teammate Tank Dell, and he would be asked who his top five quarterbacks in the NFL are, off of last year.

Stroud's answers were as follows:

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Lamar Jackson
  3. Himself
  4. Dak Prescott
  5. Jalen Hurts

This would immediately get backlash from the others, questioning his decision about having Dak on the list, and Stroud would go to his defense. One of the hosts on the podcast was distraught, head buried in his hand "You're gonna put Dak Prescott in over Joe Burrow?"

Joe Burrow was hurt a majority of the season last year with a calf strain that started in training camp and didn't fully heal until the middle of the season. Then he tore a ligament in his wrist in week eleven, ending his season, which Stroud made sure to point out.

The host was hating on Dak just because he was a Cowboy, and he didn't even pay attention to the question.

The question was based off of last season, if he had Burrow in his top five, off of last season alone, there should be questions about his objectivity.

Stroud stood firm on his take and didn't hold back his thoughts on the Cowboys quarterback.

"Dak's that boy, y’all aren’t gonna say that because he ain’t won the big one yet," Stroud said with conviction. "Dak's tough bro, Dak is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the world."

Stroud did make an amendment to his list through his social media, acknowledging he forgot about Josh Allen. He ended up placing the Buffalo Bills quarterback at No. 4 and Dak at No. 5.

Unfortunately being a Dallas Cowboys, means you'll be subjected to criticism far and unfair, it comes with the territory.

If Dak does hear this, hopefully it just adds to the chip on his shoulder.
