The midseason mark is here for the Dallas Cowboys and they've got a 5-3 record to show for it.

The Cowboys have lost their two "marquee matchups" of the season so far, including Week 9's showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yet, they've been able to prove they've got the potential to be serious contenders within the NFC. That's in large part thanks to their top-tier MVPs in each phase of the game.

In this post, we're getting ready to determine who's been the Midseason MVP of the Cowboys on offense, defense, and special teams. Let's dive in.

2023 Cowboys Midseason MVPs

Offense: QB Dak Prescott

This was a tough call between Dak and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who’s had a monstrous stretch of games since he called for more targets after losing to the San Francisco 49ers.

But Prescott gets the nod for me because he's been in quite a run himself. Since Week 6, he's been the third most efficient quarterback per EPA + CPOE. He's thrown for 8 touchdowns and one pick while boasting a completion percentage of 71.4%.

Even better, he's been able to use his legs to extend plays and hit explosives on scramble drills. Prescott is playing some of his best football as of late and he's the reason they were even in the game against the Eagles in Week 9.

Runner up: WR CeeDee Lamb

Lamb has been otherworldly with four 100-yard games this season, including back-to-back games of 150+ receiving yards, a first for the franchise since Miles Austin did it in 2009, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Defense: EDGE Micah Parsons

It’s got to start with Parsons. He remains an elite presence in the trenches and consistently impacts opponents’ game plans and protections.

Before Week 9, he faced a 30% double-team rate, the highest among the top 20 edge rushers per ESPN's Pass Rush Win Rate. Parsons ranked as the second-best edge rusher per the latter stat despite the extremely high double-team rate.

He's special and the best player on the Cowboys' roster.

Runner up: CB DaRon Bland

Bland has been a pleasant surprise in coverage, making Trevon Diggs' season-ending injury not as bad (even though it absolutely sucks, as every other injury). With three pick-sixes to his name, he deserves to be the runner-up on this one.

Special teams: K Brandon Aubrey

Where did this guy come from? Why, the USFL of course!

Even still, I did not see Aubrey setting the record for the most consecutive field goals to start an NFL career. He's now up to 19-of-19 attempts. He's one of three perfect kickers in the NFL this year.

Aubrey's run includes four field goals of 50+ yards, with his longest being one from 58 yards out.

Keep in mind, Aubrey's unlikely journey includes an MLS stint, a USFL stint, and… 4+ years of coding. His LinkedIn profile still reads "I am now exploring employment opportunities in professional soccer and the Computer Software Industry."

Runner up: WR KaVontae Turpin
