Recently, I put together an NFL-wide list of 32 players and coaches that I'd pick to win in an mixed martial arts fight in honor of Saturday's historic UFC 300 event in the world of combat sports.

I picked one person per team and when it came to the Dallas Cowboys, it didn't take long to figure out who was the only correct answer. However, it quickly became clear to me there were a couple of other candidates that I'd love to see step into that octagon.

Below is my Top 3 Cowboys that I'd choose to win an MMA fight. It's time!

1. DT Osa Odighizuwa

Odighizuwa was a no-brainer, as I broke down in my league-wide article:

The baddest man in the NFL? Osa won not one, not two, but three straight state heavyweight wrestling championships and went a combined 91-0 over this last two years in high school.

You just can't ignore that resume at the highest levels of high school heavyweight wrestling. Being elite in that area will give him a major advantage over most players in the league.

2. FB Hunter Luepke

Osa isn't the only accomplished wrestler wearing the silver and navy, though: Second-year fullback Hunter Luepke was a two-time state champion competing in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. He went 49-0 as a senior.

Elite wrestling beats elite jiu-jitsu.

3. DeMarcus Lawrence

I don't doubt that D-Law would put up a good fight but I'll be honest about his making the ranking: In professional MMA, you've got to sell those PPVs. Lawrence can deliver in that space no problem as somebody who's always down to talk some smack.

"You hit a mother****r in the face over and over and over and over again until they quit," a hyped Lawrence told reporters in the locker room after beating Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. "And when they quit, hit them again and again and again.”
