The most polarizing player in the Dallas Cowboys remains quarterback Dak Prescott just like Tony Romo before him.
As the franchise nears three decades without making it to the NFC Championship Game, fans continue to debate about the player commanding the most valuable position in the sport.
On Tuesday, such controversy was reignited by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who during a livestream for Bleacher Report insisted on a previous report made by him on the potential price range for Prescott's next extension as he gears up for a contract year in 2024.
"I believe Dak Prescott is going to come in somewhere along the lines of 60 million dollars per year, potentially making him the highest-paid quarterback in football and resetting his quarterback market," Schultz said.
Naturally, the report quickly led to fans and media members letting everyone know about their thoughts, with a large group of people being against the notion of Prescott making such figures.
Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas was quick to respond to the drama by hilariously taking aim at fans with a post on Twitter/X which ended with "Argue wit ya momma."
Thomas has been one of the most active Cowboys players in social media in recent memory, going as far as going after NFL officials following controversial calls.
In 2024, Thomas could be looking at extended playing time as Jayron Kearse approaches free agency with low chances of returning to the Cowboys. Thomas has done a great job showing his athleticism in coverage and versus the run, as well. He's one of the biggest risers to watch entering the offseason.
As for Prescott's future, all signs so far have pointed toward the deal getting done. The Joneses continue to preach confidence in their quarterback, and a $59M cap hit this season calls for an extension to lower it so Dallas can go make some "all-in" additions.
Earlier this offseason, Ian Rapoport from NFL Network claimed the contract was "set up for Prescott to get a contract extension before free agency, my understanding is those talks are still expected and everything is still on track."
