The Cowboys' announcement indicated Prescott is dealing with a hamstring injury. The FOX broadcast showed a replay of a play where Prescott suffered a non-contact injury during a pass play.
Additionally, moments before the Cowboys quarterback headed to the injury tent, cameras caught trainers working on his right hand.
NFL Network insider Jane Slater reported his hand looked swollen.
Backup quarterback Cooper Rush replaced Prescott on offense. The veteran beat Trey Lance for the backup job back in the preseason. The latter isn't eligible to play unless both Prescott and Rush go down injured in the same game per emergency quarterback rules. He's officially inactive for the game.
The Cowboys risk falling to 3-6 and with Prescott dealing with a hamstring issue, the quarterback's game status for an upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles is up in the air.
