Cowboys' boring Super Bowl LIX odds for 2024 NFL season fail to generate any sort of hype

Even though we're only a couple of weeks away from Super Bowl LVIII, you can already take a flyer on NFL teams – including the Dallas Cowboys – to win Super Bowl LIX.
If anything, it's a good glimpse into what the oddsmakers think of each team ahead of the 2024 season.
Per the odds below from DraftKings, the Cowboys are the eighth favorite to lift the Lombardi Trophy next year and the third favorite within the NFC, behind the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions.
The Green Bay Packers, who recently eliminated Dallas from the playoffs, are listed with the same odds as the Cowboys. So what should we make out of it after a devasting postseason loss?
Do the Cowboys' Super Bowl odds get anyone excited?
If there's ever been a time to roll your eyes at a list of way-too-early-preseason odds, now is the perfect one if you're a Cowboys fan. It's boring as they've been in a similar position for the last few years. Somewhere near the top of the conference but not quite. Not a surprise at all.
And it's not the oddsmakers Cowboys fans should be upset at, they're just doing their job. It's what they mean and understanding they're a result of Dallas changing absolutely nothing.
The front office is fixated in running it back with the same football team and staff and the reality is not even another 12 wins will generate hype the next regular season.
It's going to be a long year for Dallas as they've got nothing left to prove when it comes to September and December football. Next season, it's all about what happens in January.
It is worth noting that out of the 13 teams with the highest odds to win the Super Bowl, five are from the NFC and eight are in the AFC. This would suggest that once again, the Cowboys' conference could be considered wide open. The Packers in particularly stand out, as they seem to have found something in quarterback Jordan Love and after a trip to the divisional round, they might not be going away anytime soon.
Will the Cowboys do something in free agency or in the NFL Draft to prove they can be different? Never say never but I'm sure as heck not holding my breath.
