The Dallas Cowboys host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 of the NFL for their only noon game of the year (pending Week 18 scheduling) on Sunday.
Having lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend, the Rams will be seeking a bounce-back performance against a well-rested Cowboys team that's fresh off of a bye week.
To get you ready for the NFC showdown, here are the top seven stories of the week with everything you need to know ahead of the game. Let's dive in!
Dak Prescott reveals his 'focus' player vs Rams
Cowboys: Dak Prescott offers strong take on Aaron Donald ahead of Week 8
Dak didn’t hold back.
Dak Prescott kept it real with reporters this week when he talked about Aaron Donald being the "focus" of the offense this week. When asked if the Rams' superstar was still himself, Prescott delivered a candid response with a laugh.
"Shit yeah, he is," Prescott said.
Donald ranks first in the NFL in pressures and QB hits among interior defensive linemen, per Pro Football Focus. He's also fourth in pass rush win rate. The Cowboys are going to need to be at their best against one of the greatest players of all time.
Cowboys' injury report is looking good
Cowboys are on track to avoid major blow to starting lineup vs Rams
Trending in the right direction.
The Cowboys' final injury report of the week included just two names. The first is safety and rising special teams ace Juanyeh Thomas, who carries no designation after practicing fully all week.
The second is a little bit more concerning: Left tackle Tyron Smith. The All-Pro tackle was added on Thursday with a neck issue. Fortunately, the Cowboys sound optimistic he'll be ready to go.
Slowing down Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua
Cowboys: DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore face scary test in Week 8
They face a scary test.
The Cowboys are facing one of the best wide receiver duos in the league in Kupp and Nacua. That sounds like a scary proposition without Trevon Diggs, but the stats don't lie: DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore have balled out.
Both rank among the top cornerbacks in key statistics (analyzed in the above article). Sunday will be all about limiting the Rams to long drives and avoiding the big plays.
What's wrong with Cowboys WR Michael Gallup?
Should the Cowboys bench Michael Gallup ahead of Week 8?
The solution isn’t so exact.
Gallup's struggles have been very notable this season. A receiver who usually wins in one-on-one situations has abysmal numbers in this category. Yet the offense continues to feature him while second-year Jalen Tolbert waits on the sidelines.
Gallup has caught just 2-of-12 contested throws sent his way, the worst completion rate (16.7%) in the NFL among those with at least one contested catch.

Get ready for Week 8.
This will be the only noon game for the Cowboys from now until Week 18 (potentially).
Check out if you'll be able to catch the game on TV so you don't miss the action between these two NFC squads.
CeeDee Lamb chasing bragging rights within No. 88 club
Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb could one-up Irvin, Bryant in Week 8
Representing the 88 Club.
Lamb was on fire against the L.A. Chargers in Week 6 as he caught seven of seven targets for 117 yards and seven first downs. The Cowboys need to continue to feed the guy, even if it means forcing him the football.
With six catches, Lamb would get his 300th career catch, and do something no one in the No. 88 club did in his time: Get there in 56 games. It's not the only career milestone he's pursuing on Sunday.
Cowboys' World Series lesson
Cowboys could learn something from the World Series-bound Rangers
If the Dallas Cowboys want to take it to the next level, they should look for advice across the street
The Texas Rangers are 1-0 after Game 1 of the World Series!
Tyler Browning went in-depth to outline the lesson the Cowboys could learn from their next-door neighbor. By the way, does anybody know if Adolis García can play football? Get him on this team, he'll come in clutch sometime.
