The Dallas Cowboys will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 13.

Ahead of the game, the Cowboys announced their inactive players and one elevation from the practice squad. Rookie tight end Princeton Fant out of Tennessee will make his NFL debut against Seattle and oddly enough, his cousin Noah Fant.

The relatives won't face each other directly as they're both offensive players (although Fant is likely looking at more of a special teams role) but talk about perfect timing for a family reunion.

John Fassel's special teams unit has been a revolving door of talent so it's worth keeping a close eye on what Fant does as this could be a solid opportunity to impress the coaching staff and to push for a bigger role on the team.

Peyton Hendershot was not activated for Week 13

With Fant's elevation, the Cowboys confirmed they're not activating second-year tight end Peyton Hendershot to the 53-man roster. He will remain on Injured Reserve and has another week left on his currently running practice window.

Cowboys inactives vs Seahawks, Week 13

  • WR Jalen Brooks
  • RB Deuce Vaughn
  • OT Asim Richards
  • CB Noah Igbinoghene
  • CB Eric Scott Jr.
  • QB Trey Lance (emergency quarterback)

With only one practice squad elevation for tonight's game, the Cowboys need to go with six inactive and the above players fit exactly into what the team has done all year.

Jalen Brooks is the biggest development from the list above considering the rookie wideout had accumulated three consecutive games played and now finds himself back on the inactive list. Perhaps the Cowboys felt Princeton Fant deserved a shot at competing for a gameday role? We'll find out soon enough if this is a rookie competition for snaps even though the two play different positions or if it's a match-up-related decision.

Sixth-round rookie running back Deuce Vaughn is out of a gameday role unless an injury to KaVontae Turpin or another running back happens. Cornerbacks Noah Igbinoghene and Eric Scott Jr. have been healthy scratches for most of the year and OT Asim Richards seems to be locked in at LT3 even though his future looks promising.

As for Trey Lance, the Cowboys are cleaoscar duartrly preaching patience with his development. They traded a fourth-round draft pick for him in the preseason and will likely not activate him barring any quarterback injuries.

Seahawks inactives

This is where it gets interesting: Seattle has activated right tackle Abraham Lucas and he'll make his return to the field for the first time since Week 1. Lucas' absence has led to Seattle struggling a lot on the right side of the OL. He gets Micah Parsons to welcome him back.

The Seahawks have struggled to have a consistent offense and it won't get easier against the Cowboys defense: Starting running back Kenneth Walker is out for Week 13.
