Cancel all your plans and mark your calendars for Thursday, Sept. 26, Dallas Cowboys fans.

That's when the Cowboys take on the New York Giants in primetime and there's a highly anticipated matchup that has already sparked a lot of conversation: Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs vs. Giants' rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Nabers was asked who he can't wait to match up against in Year 1.

"Trevon Diggs," Nabers said without missing a beat.

The interview was turned into a hype video to which Diggs responded with a Ninja emoji on X/Twitter.

Nabers, who went sixth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, enters his rookie year with high expectations following a standout college career at LSU.

Right before making the jump to the NFL, Nabers led the nation with 120.7 receiving yards per game last fall, ranked No. 1 in the SEC in receptions (89) and receiving yards (1,569), and No. 2 in receiving touchdowns (14).

According to Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, Nabers has made the transition to the next level look like a breeze.

"I think he can be a tremendous weapon for us. He's had a good spring. He's looked good and made a lot of plays. You know, it takes time and work, and we'll put that in," Jones said of Nabers following minicamp. "I mean, he can do everything. There is not much that he can't do, really, from a route-running standpoint. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands and strong, fast, explosive, catches the ball well."

While Nabers is on tap for a breakout year, this isn't Diggs first rodeo and he followed up with another post on X/Twitter to let the rookie know.

"Giants been getting belt for some years now," Diggs wrote, emphasizing the fact that the Cowboys have owned the Big Blue for their last six matchups.

Diggs appeared in just two games in 2023 after a torn ACL sidelined him for most of the season, but he's trending in the right direction and bold statements like Nabers' will only add fuel to his recovery process.
