In Week 11 of the 2023 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys are set to face off against the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers were vastly considered one of the worst teams in the NFL heading into the season. And that prediction has remained true despite drafting QB Bryce Young with the first overall pick.

They currently sit with a 1-8 record, which is the worst in the NFL.

Here's the thing, as a whole, their defense hasn't been that bad.

They have allowed 2,775 yards on the season, which is good for sixth-best in the NFL. They allow 308.3 yards per game which seems like a lot, but again it is the seventh lowest in the NFL.

So what is the issue, with the team?

Well for one their offense is atrocious. The bad news for the Panthers is they'll need that precise unit to step up on Sunday.

It was announced earlier that the Panthers would be without CB Jaycee Horn for their matchup with Dallas despite expecting his return this weekend.

The Panthers made Jaycee Horn the eighth overall pick in the 2021 draft and was a player that many Cowboys fans had their eye on.

Since being their selection, he has logged just over 1,000 snaps. A majority of them came last season where he played 840.

This year he has just played 19, so it's not like the Panthers are just missing him. Rather it's the fact they were excited to get him back against a very potent Cowboys offense, and instead, they will have to wait one more week.

Add to that that starting CB C.J. Henderson has also been ruled out for the game due to a concussion.

That leaves the Panthers with the following CB room against the Cowboys: Donte Jackson, Troy Hill, and Dicaprio Bootle.

Bootle has been targetted 12 times, allowing 8 receptions. Hill has been targetted 29 times, allowing 18 receptions, and Jackson has been targetted 35 times allowing 23 receptions.

This is looking like a prime CeeDee Lamb game who is just 25 yards shy of reaching 1,000 receiving yards this year, spearheading a revamped passing offense.

CeeDee also leads the league in receptions of 20+ yards, having 12 in the last game and 22 on the season as a whole. The Panthers' defense has allowed 41 explosive passing plays on the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see that number go up a bit following the game.

The Panthers had a lengthy injury report as a whole, so I'm sure Cowboys fans are about as optimistic as you can be.

So all things considered, this should be an easy win for the Cowboys, right?

Well, we all thought that with the Cardinals game, and look what happened. Hopefully, things go differently this time around.
