Dear Santa, as the Dallas Cowboys season reaches its end, here are my three Christmas wishes.

Sure, I’ve got some other gift ideas on my mind. A Nintendo Switch 2 or a new Warhammer miniature would be nice, but at this point, I just wish for some sports happiness to end the year despite the team’s non-existent playoff hopes. Allow me to begin with one of the bright spots of 2025 (and now one of five Cowboys Pro Bowlers!) George Pickens.

Wish No. 1: Big George Pickens games

I am not sure if you root for an NFL team, Santa, but I’m certain you can’t help going “Ho, Ho, Ho!” when watching this guy play. I’m not sure if the Cowboys are going to be able to keep Pickens in the long run, and even 2026 could be in question if they don’t want to play the franchise tag game.

So I just want to see George be the same fun player he’s been all year long, minus the recent slump he was on. On that note, please give head coach Brian Schottenheimer the right play calls on Thursday so he can make sure Pickens gets the football.

Wish No. 2: Better red zone offense

If the Cowboys aren’t going to the NFL playoffs, that’s fine. But can you get us some touchdowns inside the 20-yard line? Not only would it be fun, but it’s important for Schotty to figure out red zone play-calling. Dallas ranks 20th in the NFL in touchdown percentage in the red zone, which is painfully low for an offense featuring Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens.

They need to be better. Give them a hand?

Wish No. 3: Better play from CB Shavon Revel Jr.

You may be wondering why out of all players on the roster, I have a specific wish for Revel Jr. Well, the reason is I have serious concerns about the Cowboys’ secondary in 2026. DaRon Bland is facing another foot surgery, and there is no other cornerback we can feel confident about.

However, if Revel Jr. shows up big time in his final two games as a rookie, I’m sure I’ll sleep better at night. He’s been targeted and burned often by opposing quarterbacks but there are promising reps on his film. I’m wishing for some consistency in his play.

Happy holidays, Santa!
