Dallas Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance finally got to debut this season in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles when he played in the second half and despite only getting 15 snaps, he's already been hit by the NFL with a fine.

The league is fining Lance $22,511 for unnecessary Roughness (use of the helmet). The play in question happened with Lance acting as a tackler. After Jake Ferguson fumbled and Philadelphia Eagles safety Reed Blankenship picked it up, Lance made tackle in which he knocked Blankenship out of bounds. He led with his helmet.

The NFL has been hammering down on such plays and even though Lance probably meant no ill, he'll have to pay up after keeping the play from becoming a scoop-and-score.

The NFL also fined Cowboys' rookie linebacker Marist Liufau for a facemask foul that occurred with under three minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Every Saturday, the NFL is announcing its league-wide fines and amounts for penalties committed the previous week. The money collected by the league through player fines is "donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game."
