While Dallas Cowboys fans celebrate the arrival of wide receiver George Pickens to the team, Jourdan Lewis is celebrating he's not around for it.

The standout nickel cornerback became one of the Cowboys' biggest free agency losses when he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars to become one of the highest-paid NFL nickelbacks in March. On Wednesday, he weighed in on the massive news surrounding Dallas.

"Confirmation, God wanted me in Jacksonville," Lewis posted as a reaction to an ESPN post reporting the news.

For those who might've forgotten, Pickens and Lewis got feisty toward the end of the Cowboys' Week 5 win over the Steelers. The tension between the two frequent trash talkers reached a tipping point in the final play of the game after the Steelers ran a lateral play that ended up in a loose ball recovered by Lewis.

At that point, Lewis got in Pickens' face to say some (probably unfriendly) words, which prompted the Steelers receiver to yank the Cowboys cornerback by the facemask, sending him to the ground. It's safe to say they don't get along.

Last year, the sequence resulted in Lewis being fined $11,255 and Pickens $10,230. And it didn't stop on the field.

"Pittsburgh needs a receiver, George Pickens is weak," Lewis told reporters outside the Cowboys' locker room at the end of the game.

Fortunately for everyone involved, the Cowboys and the Jaguars aren't playing each other in 2026 but the sequence is the perfect example of the one question surrounding the Pickens trade: Will his behavior be an issue for Dallas?

That will be up to Brian Schottenheimer's way of handling the controversial receiver's personality. If he does, the Cowboys should be able to capitalize on acquiring a high-end WR2 that can completely change the offense and the way defenses approach covering CeeDee Lamb.

With that being said, I wish we could've gotten Pickens vs. Lewis in training camp. Oh, well.
