If there's one thing we know about the Dallas Cowboys is they generate buzz like no other team in the NFL does. That means whenever an insider can tie America's Team to a wild narrative, it's going to happen.

That's important to keep in mind before we dive into the latest rumors brought up by Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio because they're honestly extremely difficult to buy into. On Tuesday, he said on 105.3 The Fan he had "heard" the Cowboys had talked to the Tennessee Titans about moving up to the No. 1 overall pick.

"I did hear yesterday (…) you hear all sorts of stuff, and I don't like to traffic in stuff I've heard because I don't know how accurate it is but I did have somebody tell me that the Cowboys have talked to the Titans about moving up to number one," Florio said.

The report, which would be massive had it come with a more certain approach than "you hear all kinds of things and I don't want to make something out of it but I will right now," naturally came with caveats from Florio.

"Now I think a lot of teams talk about moving around and I don't know if you guys have heard that," Florio added. "But that's a jump and I don't know what you would have to put into that or whether you'd have to put Micah Parsons into that package if it would go that way. But teams talk all the time."

Would a trade for the No. 1 overall pick for the Cowboys would make any sense?

Short answer: No.

Slightly longer answer: No on many levels.

Long answer: Seriously, what would the Cowboys be getting out of this? That's to say, who do they want at No. 1? Abdul Carter from Penn State might be a common answer here but that would be the Family Guy mystery box version of a trade.

Let's trade Parsons away for a guy that if you're lucky will turn out to be a Micah Parsons! And boy, you'd have to be capital f Fortunate for that considering the Cowboys star's historic pace four years into his career.

If the idea is to get a quarterback for the future and put an end to the Dak Prescott era then that's even more ridiculous considering the Cowboys would need to eat $102 million in dead money. That's just not going to happen even if you can do enough mental gymnastics to convince yourself it would be the right move football wise.

But mostly, here's what I think regarding this rumor: Have we not been paying attention? The Cowboys are not led by the gambler version of Jerry Jones that took big swings in the 1990s. We're talking about one of the most conservative front offices in the league that would've kept Mike McCarthy at head coach had he agreed to a three-year deal this January. They kept things in-house and officially interviewed four candidates before promoting Brian Schottenheimer from offensive coordinator to head coach.

And we're discussing a potential trade for the No. 1 overall pick? Yeah, right.

I can tell why Florio prefaced the whole thing by saying "I don't like to traffic in stuff I've heard because I don't know how accurate it is."

I believe he knows exactly how inaccurate it is.
