Every year, the NFL does its best to ensure the final week of the regular season features games with plenty of significance on primetime. It also aims for simultaneous kickoff times for separate games that are relevant to each other. Thus, the exact times for Week 18 matchups isn’t announced until one week in advance.

And though the Dallas Cowboys won’t be playing in one of those “relevant” games, the league announced the kickoff time for their regular season finale against the New York Giants.

Cowboys to play at noon CT in Week 18

The Giants will host the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium at noon CT in Week 18, the league announced Sunday evening.

You know the NFL loves every chance it gets to play the Cowboys on primetime. But as they enter the final week of the season with a 7-8-1 record, it was clear noon CT looked like a much likelier outcome. The Giants (2-14) also have little to play for, with the biggest concern for fans being if they’ll own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Will Cowboys play to win?

We’ll see. But all indications from Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer point toward the answer being yes. Following Dallas’ win over the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day, he reiterated the team was “playing to win.” However, Schottenheimer said he’d review the film before making any decisions. We’ll learn more in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Dak Prescott told reporters he expected to play, though admitted he understood there were other factors at play that could keep him from it. Last time he took the field, he was sacked six times and hit 11.

“In my mind, any conversations that I’ve had with (Schottenheimer) or anybody about it would be I’m playing,” Prescott said last Thursday.
