The Dallas Cowboys are not a normal NFL team. Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons just reminded us of that with a series of cryptic posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On Thursday at 11:51 p.m. ET, Parsons shared a post from analyst and content creator “J Tuck” that showed a picture of Parsons and Diggs with the caption “I’m prepared to burn this app down.” Parsons quoted it with a GIF that read “One Last Time.”

Shortly after, Diggs shared Parsons’ post with the message: “7/11 4L.” The caption refers to both players’ numbers, followed by “for life.”

Again, we don’t know the motivation, but we do know the context of each player surrounding the messages. Parsons and Diggs recently addressed the media together and took a strong stance against the front office. The star defensive end expected to sign the highest-paid deal for a non-quarterback in the NFL told the media “if they don’t want me here, they don’t want me here,” and added he didn’t understand why the Cowboys hadn’t signed him to an extension yet. Diggs admitted he was hurt by the team’s decision to de-escalate his salary by $500,000 after he failed to meet an offseason participation requirement from his contract.

In other words, each is going through a situation with which they’re not happy. Parsons wants to have his long-term future secured and return to the practice field. Diggs would’ve liked the front office’s trust while rehabbing away from team facilities in the offseason.

Now, what exactly the posts mean is another thing. What does Parsons mean by “One Last Ride”? Is he talking about Diggs potentially playing his final year in Dallas? Is he talking about his future? These are the questions being asked by Cowboys Nation after the two players sent a seemingly coordinated couple of cryptic posts.

And yet, I insist: We can only speculate on the meaning for now. But we’re all aware of the context.
