Micah Parsons makes a prediction about 2025 Cowboys that team seems unlikely to fulfill and it's not his fault

Superstar defensive end Micah Parsons is making a prediction about the 2025 Dallas Cowboys that he will not be able to make a reality himself, unless Jerry Jones unexpectedly hands him the keys to the ship and the general manager title.
"I think it's going to be a great offseason, I do think we're going to attack free agency," Parsons said on his podcast, The Edge.
Although Cowboys Nation might naturally get excited at Parsons' prediction, they should tread carefully. Just last week, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones shared with the media he expects a similar offseason in 2025.
“I think we knew we were gonna have a challenge in (2024 and 2025), it’s gonna be really, really tight," Jones told reporters. "We still have some money left over from guys who are not here today, and you’re gonna have some other guys that won’t be here in the future that you’re still gonna have their cap count.”
That's not exactly an encouraging discourse from a front office that has rarely spent much on landing outside free agents.
This offseason, the Cowboys were 32nd out of 32 NFL teams in free agency spending. And although it's easy to point toward new deals for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, it should be noted other teams that have signed their quarterbacks to large contracts have also been active spenders in free agency.
While Parsons might truly believe the Cowboys will make an effort to build a much better team in 2025, the breadcrumbs left behind by the front office strongly suggest otherwise. It's not his fault if the front office doesn't match his ambition, of course, but it would be a significant shift from how they've done things for years now.
With that being said, there is a reason to believe Parsons' prediction might become true after all.
The case for Micah Parsons' prediction to come true
This isn't rocket science. The Cowboys need it. Point blank period. With very few exceptions, just about every single position could be considered a need for Dallas at this point. They need offensive line, defensive line, wide receiver depth and a true No. 2, cornerback help is needed even more following Trevon Diggs' season-ending injury. I could keep going.
This year, the Cowboys tried to fill every gap on the roster through the NFL Draft. Three rookies were starters in Week 1 at Cleveland. But now, there's just not enough on the roster to want to fix things in April.
As such, the only way forward might be to, in the words of Parsons, "attack free agency." It's common sense. Now we wait to see if the Cowboys' decision-makers agree.
"It's going to be a super exciting year," Parsons added. "It looks bad right now and we're turning it up, but it's about to go to a whole other level. I hope you really pay attention."
